How do I send my mixer output to Bluetooth speakers? With a Bluetooth transmitter — the mirror image of a receiver. A transmitter plugs into your source (mixer, PA amp, hi-fi, laptop) and broadcasts to Bluetooth speakers or headphones. blafili builds two: the T6.35 with a 1/4″ (6.35mm) plug and the Bicast with a balanced XLR input.

Pick by the jack on your gear. Mixers, keyboard amps, PA heads and audio interfaces nearly always have a 1/4″ TRS or headphone output — the T6.35 plugs straight in and streams to two Bluetooth speakers at once in dual-link mode, which is exactly what you want for karaoke, gigs or streaming a room in stereo. Studio and pro installs with balanced XLR outputs should step up to the Bicast: it takes XLR or USB-C audio and broadcasts at BT 5.2, and pairs happily with a blafili XLR receiver on the far end.

Latency and codecs. For music, aptX and AAC keep video-sync comfortable; for speech over PA, latency is a non-issue. Dual-link transmitters negotiate codecs per listener, so an LDAC headphone and an SBC speaker can share one stream.

Transmitter vs receiver — a one-minute check. Receiver: your speakers are dumb, your phone is the music. Transmitter: your mixer/amp/TV is the music, your speakers are Bluetooth.
