High-Fidelity Bluetooth Audio with an amazing value

If your are looking for a aesthetically pleasing audio receiver with great output options and extensive Bluetooth codecs support (up to and including LDAC!), you've just found one.

Looks & build:
It features a minimalistic, modern looking metal case with a clear OLED panel that displays current 'source' information, paired with a single multi function button (used to turn the device ON/OFF, enter pairing mode or clear the paired devices list).
The case has a high quality finish and great attention to detail, it's nicely rounded with no rough edges.
On the back, you will find multiple output options, a sleek removable Bluetooth antenna, and a USB-C port.

Connectivity & range:
As a Bluetooth audio receiver, it supports multiple premium codecs, including LDAC (Up to 990 kbps) which will surely satisfy FLAC format fans!
With its external antenna, it provides an excellent range.
However, keep in mind that the highest quality codec - LDAC - will start to degrade if too many obstacles are in the way.
For me, a straight line distance of about 10m through two walls started to cause signal stuttering, but it was just a practical test to see how much of a beating it could take.
In normal everyday use, I tested it at distances up to 15m when streaming from my Android phone (FLAC files over LDAC), it worked perfectly.

Output options are excellent, and it's important to note that all output options are ACTIVE simultaneously if you ever feel the need to connect more than one pair of speakers.
Unlike some competitors on the market, there is no 'volume loss' compared to a direct wired connection.

Sound quality:
The manufacturer decided to use the ES9018K2M DAC chip, which offers an analytical, bright and highly detailed sound profile.

Of course, when tested on $600 pair of speakers it sounds noticeably different than on a $150 system.
I tested it using one of my favorites, "Green Grass & High Tides" by Outlaws. It sounded great on both setups, the integrated DAC managed to pump out the details - especially during the guitar solos, delivering a high fidelity experience that made even the $150 system punch above its weight!
Overall, blafili managed to deliver a great sounding device, that enriches the listening experience and allows even the lower-end speakers to shine (up to their physical limits).

What's in the Box & Manual:
Inside, you get the main device and the Bluetooth antenna.
Additionally they included both an optical cable and a USB cable.
The user manual is clear and concise.

PIN secured pairing & Power User configuration:
The device allows you to set a required PIN code for Bluetooth pairing and lets you customize the displayed Bluetooth device name.
There is also an advanced configuration application available for Windows systems. It allows you to change the pairing PIN and tweak a myriad of other advanced options if you are brave enough to dive into the settings!

I had been looking for a Bluetooth adapter for my speakers which lack wireless connectivity;
after browsing through many tacky, rickety-looking options, mixed-reviewed ones, and overpriced ones,
I finally stumbled on a brief YouTube review of this one, and decided to buy it.

The device is encased in a nice plastic shell with a tight fit. It's very compact and lightweight, but thanks to its rubbery feet, it stays stable.
There is only one button which allows you to enter pairing mode, clear paired devices and serves as a ON/OFF switch.
LED light serves as an indicator - blinking blue and red during pairing; the device also stays perfectly cool during use.

The connection is stable and has very good range (better than my wireless headphones).
I stream music from my laptop and Android phone and I have never experienced any disruptions even when streaming from another floor.
Using the "aptX Adaptive" codec I did not notice any drop in quality compared to a wired connection while using YouTube or basic music streaming services.
Overall it's very easy to pair and switch between streaming devices. I don't even notice that I'm using an adapter, which is a huge plus - there are no annoying added jingles, bells or voices prompts - the LED indicator is more than enough.

The included manual is clear and concise, and they even included a spare USB cable.
The device arrived safely packaged, wrapped in a bubble wrap.

Great Product—Follow the Instructions

This product works flawlessly once properly installed. Important tip: the blue wire is REMOTE OUT, not a remote IN. It sends a signal to turn on your amplifier when audio is detected—do not connect it to your radio’s remote lead.

I paired it with my phone and it performs beautifully. Just be sure to read and follow the instructions closely so you understand how the REMOTE OUT wire functions.

Decent option for a permanently mounted Bluetooth connection

This Bluetooth receiver is perfect for mounting in a vehicle behind the dash or above/below a head unit or amplifier. It's low profile, and conveniently mounts to a flat surface via 2 fasteners on the sides.

I greatly appreciate that there's an inline blade fuse included on the 12V power input, so if you're powering it from a higher amp accessory circuit or piggy-backing an existing audio power circuit, the wiring and unit are protected. Some similar devices use an inline glass fuse, and they can be harder to find replacements for, whereas most vehicles have now have blade fuses and they are readily available.

This unit has a remote out feature, so it can be used to switch on an amplifier to reduce battery draw when not in use (instead of having the amplifier automatically turn on with accessory power). This is a great feature that isn't present in most basic bluetooth receivers.

While the unit outputs via L/R RCA pigtails, it's line level output so you can use an RCA to 3.5mm cable to connect this to a standard AUX input on a car stereo if you require. There is no volume control on this receiver; this device is designed to be used in conjunction with an amplifier with that functionality.

The one minor issue I had is that using this device with a 240V AC to 24V DC power supply introduced noise over the RCA connection if the receiving device was utilising the same power supply. This did not occur if the receiving device was a battery powered speaker, nor when the receiving device received line input from a mobile phone.

The one major issue I had with this bluetooth receiver is that it flashes RED & BLUE LED's. This could land you in trouble if mounted in a visible location in the cabin as use of those colours together flashing in an alternate pattern could draw attention.

As a positive, this receiver does not say "bluetooth connected" voice over the speakers or make any annoying connecting sound (like JBL speakers / generic Chinese bluetooth amps), the lights just change from red/blue flashing to solid blue. I REALLY like this, simple single tone or no sound at all is much less intrusive!

This receiver can be powered by 12V or 24V, so it can be used in ag equipment and commercial vehicles, which is a bonus (no 24V to 12V DC-DC converter required).

Great retro-fit system

This is a great way to add blue-tooth to an existing system without the expensive of a full replacement. It is very easy to install, with clear and colour-coded cabling, reasonably compact unit so easy to find a place to tuck it away, and works great. Pairing is usual routine, sound quality is more than adequate for a car/boat and whole system works great - better than I expected.

Simple no frills way to add BlueToth to older still good radios

This is simple and low cost method to add Bluetooth capability to your older stereo player/car radio/ boat radio / caravan radio / truck radio / tractor radio etc. running on one battery (12V) or two batteries (24V).

Often it is much easier and cheaper, than to replace a still perfectly fine older radio system. Especially if it is a more complex or high quality installation, and you would have to pay a specialist to do the swap.

Another reason is if you do not want the looks of a phone like modern head unit, or do not have the space for it, or simply do not want to be bothered by unwanted and to you useless other features.

Or you simply want to add Bluetooth capability in an invisible hidden away fashion, thereby retaining the original vintage look of your vehicle. Especially if a rare and expensive original vintage radio is involved.

The installation of this Blafili is very simple, I would say right out foolproof.

The product is housed in a partly transparent plastic housing. In bright sunlight you can see through, and it is well made inside. I can recommend it.

Brings my old Yamaha receiver into the Bluetooth age

I wanted a simple way to bring Bluetooth into an older stereo setup without replacing equipment that still sounds good.

This does that job well. The RCA output makes it easy to connect to an amp or powered speakers, and the USB-C power keeps the setup clean. I like that it can stay powered on, because I do not want to reconnect and fiddle with it every time I want to play music.

Brought the internet age to an old Marantz stereo receiver.

I purchased this unit to play Sirius XM and Amazon music from my iPhone to an old Marantz receiver in my workshop. One set of RCA plugs connected to the aux input on the receiver and then plugged into the wall using the supplied USB cable and the unit was up and running in pairing mode. The iPhone found the Bluetooth device immediately and it started playing. Five minutes tops from opening the box to music time. The sound quality was excellent. I don’t know how you could beat it for under $20. Highly recommended.

1970 Cutlass now in the internet era.

I used this unit to add Bluetooth to my Classic Car Stereo USA-630 in my 1970 Cutlass. I initially used the Classic Car Stereo Bluetooth adapter but after 2 failed units switched to this Blafili unit. The Blafili installation was straight forward and the unit started up in pairing mode without issue. The iPhone found the Blafili immediately and the sound quality was excellent. I highly recommend this unit.

Great cost-effective Bluetooth receiver

The R1 is a great device to use for connecting my phone and computer to my receivers, amplifiers, or any audio output device that has RCA input. It is quick to connect, small, and runs off of my cell phone chargers. Sound quality is good and has quite a long range. I have added a picture of the device as well as a video walking through the features and functions. For the price, this is a great value!

Good all around.

Needs:

I needed a long range bluetooth receiver to hook into a PA system that the name could be customized and add a pin code. This fit the bill. As of writing this review the first one has been in continuous use for 3 months with no issues.

Installation:

This is straight forward. It is a USB-C for power cord but you will need your own power brick. This was not an issue for me since the surge protector has USB power slots. Of the four output options I used the RCA to a small mixer board.

Sound and Range:

The sound is good and clear with no issues. I mounted this in a outdoor metal box since This is for an outdoor booth for music and announcements. The end user has had no issues connecting and staying connected. The second unit I bought I wanted to test distance. I connected to the bluetooth and took a walk. Through walls I was able to walk 90' away and stay connected. I did not have my shoes on or I would have went further. However 90' would be more than sufficient for the distance I needed.

Support:

I emailed support for the instructions to change the bluetooth ID. They are very responsive and sent me links to all the necessary tools with clear instructions on how to modify the name and to add a pin to the receiver. Support for me can be a make or break deal and the support I received was very responsive and helpful.

Value:

The cost is well worth it to offer customers a connection customized to them with the ability to add a pin. It makes it easy for the end user to identify what they are connecting to and the pin keeps random people from playing inappropriate music on the system.

Conclusion:

This will, hands down, be my go to for future installs.

Stable Bluetooth for RCA devices

I’d previously used Bluetooth to RCA receivers to connect my phone to older hi-fi units to play music.

The advantage of this unit is having a more recent version of Bluetooth with offers a far greater range, and rock solid stability without any noise.

Being powered by USB-C, you can power this unit pretty much anywhere, and it is light enough to tape somewhere out of sight.

Wish I knew about this 2 years ago!

I am SOOOOOO happy I found this silent-operation receiver! Every other receiver makes annoying power-on/off and paring tones. Since I use this for my TV, it gets used multiple times a day and those tones would get so annoying, especially because they are very loud. This unit is totally silent. The sound it sends to my powered 2.1 speakers is perfect (you lose a little volume level but that is always true with Bluetooth vs hard-wired). Also there is no delay, which is important for watching TV and movies. I power this with via the usb port on my TV so whenever the TV is off, so is this receiver. It boots up instantly so there is no delay waiting for it. Love it!

Went straight to aptX Adaptive - connected immediately - no need for stupid apps.

This is a five star device. It would be cool if it were metal but I don't care. It's simple and it works. The protocol was automatically chosen as adaptive which is the best one. LDAC would be nice but who cares - if you can actually tell the difference then go be a sommelier and stop using bluetooth.

So much better than my old logitech dongle which this is replacing. I think that used SBC? Either way, I love that this is my new little beast for phone streaming and it does justice to the focals on my desk.

Definitely recommend this device. Paired instantly with zero dramas. It's just an easy good device.

New life for vintage stereo systems!

Great product to breathe new life into a vintage stereo system. I have a 25 year old Sony STR-D1011S. I decided to use the DAT input for the B3 Bluetooth receiver. The blafili B3 is an OUTSTANDING product that has flawless sound and coverage through by entire house. I have it paired with my Google Pixel 10 Pro and used it with several music apps such as Spotify, Kodi, and a local content player. Then came the torture test that my other portable Bluetooth speakers fail... I put some food in the microwave oven to heat it. That would normally cause noise for my portable speakers but much to my surprise the blafili B3 and Pixel 10 Pro connection was totally unaffected by any microwave oven leakage noise!

Their tech support is also wonderful if you need it. I used their support team for help with additional customizations that I wanted and they were very responsive.

This is a versatile product that is easy to setup.

Excellent value for your money

Very convenient for connecting multiple devices simultaneously.

This device doesn't have all the features enabled for bluetooth 5.2, but i could connect both my pc and my phone to it. It must be disconnected while pairing with each device, but once paired both devices could connect concurrently. It can also be put into pairing mode with double-tap of the one button it has on top. Very nice feature. When i disconnect bluetooth (shut down for the night), the connections come back up automatically on both devices after i power it back up again. This makes it very handy, just set and forget. Walk away, even overnight, and when you get back the connection re-establishes. Beautiful. It doesn't automatically shut down or go into sleep mode, and it doesn't heat up or cause my USB hub to heat, so i assume very little power is consumed.

This now means i can finally get more wires off my desk, clean look.

Shipping was very slow, almost a month, i hope they work that stuff out a bit better in future, or maybe it was just a timing thing, luck of the draw, but the device itself is solid and reliable. Great value.

The size is pretty compact, however i'm not sure why it's not smaller, it has no batteries, and doesn't have much more than a earphone would have. In fact, it reports as qualcomm QCC3040, which is a headphone/earphone DSP with bluetooth 5.2. It should be puny. Nevertheless, its a bit smaller than a deck of playing cards in its box, convenient, and easy to stow. I was able to maintain clear connection from one storey up, and within 20 meters of the device.

excellent unit for the money

I've been using this off and on for about a year now, I have it set up with a pair of fosi mono v3's and DM40's, its performed admirably with zero issues and the audio quality is excellent via LDAC.

you really can't go wrong with this unit, its nice and simple, no extra buttons dials knobs, none of that. it just WORKS.

Great quality heavy duty unit

I've been using the B3 for about 6 months now. I mainly use it to pipe music through my band's PA system and its been doing a fantastic job. No pairing issues, no drop outs, good range, excellent sound quality, and it's a very robust unit. It's handled the normal 'abuse' of being regularly plugged in and unplugged and being trensported around in a gear bag with a bunch of other equipment and cables, so its had its fair share of knocks and bumps along the way.

This is a high quality product that I would recommend to anyone, particularly those of you looking for a heavy duty 'gig-ready' bluetooth solution.

Amazing sound, quick-start, and LOUD output system for classic cars. Pair this with any Amplifier.

I have a 1960's car overseas and this will be going in next month. This is a super-simple "hide away" adapter that allows an older car to have superb quality APTX-HD audio from your modern device. Keep your car stock! This can be paired with any modern amplifer and a modern speaker while leaving that classic radio intact.

This has been designed with some thought rather than "down to a price" and it shows.

This starts-up with no annoying sounds, and it just boots and connects all automatically in seconds. The audio is clean, punchy and the line-level output is LOUD at full volume, with all adjustments being done on the BT device.

Supports the old SBC, CSR/Qualcomm APTX and the excellent APTX-HD. For iDevices, you'll use AAC but Apple doa great job there with encoding.

Installing is "DIY" simple. The casing is sealed and the cables are secured very well. Find an area that's out of sight, but still has some clearance for the inbuilt-antenna. Two solid screw tabs are provided to screw to the car, or you can cable-tie to this something else as there is ample openings in the slots. Connect to power and ACC and the unit will simply start-up. To output audio, there are two small flyleads with RCA plugs to plug into a suitable amplifier.

"bench testing" it was flawless. It worked right throughout the house without a disconnection. Audio was clean and clear and thanks to APTX, it had plenty of punch through the attached HTS.

Ridiculous

I love it when something just works—and this does.

My older Marantz receiver started having HDMI/HDCP issues with my PC. It still sounds great (and wasn’t cheap back in the day), but the constant screen flashing for 10 minutes at a time was getting old fast.

I picked this up to bridge audio from my PC to the Marantz using an optical cable, and it solved the problem immediately. Setup was simple. You can connect via USB (which the instructions say offers better sound quality) or just use Bluetooth. I’ve tried both and honestly can’t hear any difference in fidelity.

I’ve only had it a couple of days, but so far it’s been rock solid. If you’ve got an older receiver you still like, this is a great way to keep it in the game instead of replacing it.

Still works well but noticed that the sound quality with a USB connection is much better than Bluetooth. Sometimes is switched to BT by itself and you will notice the quality drop. easy enough to switch back with the front panel button though. USB only alt to consider: ASIN B0B2DBGKL3

Everything you ever wanted to know about this Jack!

I've used this devise to play songs to my older PA system from my phone. I put it through a test of about 4 hours tonight, I play drums along with the music. No problems it worked perfect. It was a very enjoyable session. I bought this one used. However it looks brand new and works great. For about 1/2 the price of a new one. Its designed hassle free just sinc to your phone and plug it into your PA system adjust your PA to your phones volume. It looks pretty durable and fits in a shirt pocket. The sound is really good. I think for my money I got a great deal. If something happens to this one, will buy another.

Good quality BT receiver

I am using this receiver in a 12v boombox build, and it is outputting signal via RCAs to a 4 channel Fosi Audio CA30 automotive amplifier. It seems to have good BT range and be built well. One gripe that I have is that it seems to stop sending out remote power if it has stopped receiving audio signal for just a couple seconds. It will wake right back up when it receives audio signal again, this can be kind of annoying when trying to find a different song or needing to pause for a couple seconds. Still a great receiver and would buy again.

Works well with amplifier

I had hoped this would work in the car so my son could plug his phone into the old stereo. While it did, the sound quality was terrible. I know this isn't what this is designed for - just letting you know in case you had the same idea.

It does work great with his guitar amp though. He's able to easily play music from his phone through the amp and the sound quality is great.

Niche product, but exactly what I was looking for (6.5mm + Bluetooth)

This is a really interesting Bluetooth receiver. I’ve researched a lot of these and this is the only one I could find that does Bluetooth with a 6.5mm jack, which is a very specific use case. It works as advertised for me and has been a handy little adapter when you need that exact setup.

Works great

Works great but you need to right size input jack on your receiver. It works flawlessly and connected straight away to my phone when connected to my amplifier but when I tried it on another device using a 1/4 to 3.5mm connector I couldn't seem to get it to work. It may have been the cheap connector I was using but anyway I am very happy with being able to use this receiver to play music directly from my phone on an older stereo system.

This thing is fantastic. I have a 1971 Camaro I didn't want to install a modern radio into. I wanted to keep the original 2 knob radio, but the modern replacements for those are expensive. This thing works great. I can play music on my phone, wirelessly, through an amplifier to hear my music while driving. I would highly recommend this for a classic car, an ATV, a boat, etc., where mounting a radio is not an option.

A Brilliant Wireless Upgrade for My Audio Setup

This Music Receiver has been an excellent addition to my audio gear. I initially grabbed it to reduce cable clutter on a powered speaker setup, and it has performed far better than expected. The ¼" TRS plug makes it incredibly convenient for mixers, PA systems, and DJ desks—no adapters required, just plug in and go.

Pairing is fast and stable, and the aptX HD & Low Latency support really does make a difference. There’s no noticeable lag, and the audio quality remains crisp and full, even at higher volumes. When it connects, it works well. BUT...

Works well with devices that can connect to and work with it. Unfortunately the B3 would either not connect with or send the bluetootb audio signal from my Audio Technica AT-LP60-BT turntable. I know the turntable bluetooth works because it worked with a basic bluetooth receiver for which this Blafili B3 was meant to replace. I also know the B3 works and was connected properly because it connected and worked well with my phone.. but the B3 and my turntable would not play nice with each other. Of note the AT turntable uses SPC which the B3 might have difficulty working with.

In any event, it seems like a good unit but sadly does not work with all devices, especially the one for which I purchased it and therefore will need to return it. Hope this is helpful info to some.

Fantastic Bluetooth Mono receiver

Sound quality of this Bluetooth receiver is great, I currently used this with an amplifier and it works awesome, i'm not sure how low latency this dongle is in ms but you can watch a movie without lips falling out of sync if for whatever reason you would want to use this with an amplifier for that niche reason. Build quality is also superb and very sturdy doesn't feel like it's just going to snap in your hands and the USB C is a nice added touch whereas a lot of technology like these dongles still use crappy micro USB for whatever reason.. When buying this make sure you do know that it will play music Mono also NOT stereo as you will need 2 of these dongles for stereo. Extremely handy dongle non the less considering there is no need for added cables which can be a trip hazard depending how high up you're plugging into.

I'm thrilled to say I was able to find a way to now have a fantastic selection of internet-available recorded music come out of my 30 year old classic Yamaha RX-900 stereo receiver and Klipsch KG4 speakers.

The Yamaha receiver is wonderful but there were no iPhones or Bluetooth wireless devices in those days. But a few weeks ago, I wondered if such a device may now be available to plug into one of its inputs and then be able to hear music from current online sources.

The blafili B4 (no capital by their own imagination) popped up on my iPad with the first search I tried. It appeared to be 100% exactly what I was hoping for. This beautiful small device was precisely the one I would've designed myself, with multiple outputs and a solid, strong signal. It's perfectly designed and manufactured.

The shock is that I had no idea there would be a market for this thing. Could there be enough of us who wanted it? Who else has exactly the right device that came up in my own imagination? I only looked at this one because I couldn't imagine anything any better or more affordable.

I can’t thank Michael at blafili enough to be as responsive, cooperative, communicative, and supportive of the right thing for me. I can now stream from my wireless receiving devices to my speakers, exactly what I wanted.

Couldn’t be any better.

It started out amazing.... and then broke.

I was using this with an amp to bypass a radio head unit, and it worked great for about 10 minutes, it connected easily and the remote wire would turn my amp on.
After a while though, the remote wire stopped working, and I had a hard time getting it to turn on.

If it worked properly and hadn't died, I'd love it! It's really easy to use and just what I needed, but I can't recommend.

My car only has an auxiliary port and I wanted to do a built-in Bluetooth for streaming my music. This has really done a great job of allowing me to convert my aux port into a Bluetooth. Installation is very simple. It works on multiple voltages and my phone paired up with it easily, and the Bluetooth has worked without issue. Really great for various projects that you may have where you want to add Bluetooth functionality to an audio system.

I was looking for a Bluetooth receiver that doesn't give me any status beeps and remains totally silent in operation. I finally found one. It also has good range and sounds good too! Being priced very affordably for me is the cherry on top!
If you find yourself in the market for one of these, get this one. It works well.

How to Teach a 1994 Ford F-150 New Tricks (Without Replacing Its Radio)

Holy fish! Actual sound quality!

I’ve been using bog-standard Bluetooth for so long, I forgot what real audio was supposed to sound like. That is — until I ran a sine wave through one of those cheapo units and watched the waveform jitter like a caffeinated squirrel on my oscilloscope. Oof.

Then I tried this one. With aptX enabled, the difference was immediate. Same test, way smoother signal. It’s still not analog-level perfect (let’s not kid ourselves), but it’s easily twice as clean, and the subjective audio quality? Chef’s kiss.

Worked on old pioneer dvd head unit

I decided to add this to an old dvd head unit (avh-3200bt) easy to wire up. Used my head units AV in, not sure if other sources work but this method worked for me. I didn’t experience any bass loss with my little 10’ sub and amp. Seemed to connect quick enough. Not too noticeable of a lag. But I’ve only had it going for a day, so I’ll update the review if anything changes.

Nice product

Great product. However, I am a little bit surprised it doesn't have a companion controller app. So far I have only used it in the house and yet to test in a live environment. I plugged my Adam a7x speakers directly in, linked up, and I am impressed. When im not gigging this will be used as my studio bypass. I can now listen to music without powering up my entire studio. As an addition to bring Bluetooth to your home system, this is highly recommended. To make this a ten out of ten product I suggest a companion controller app. In the app include Bluetooth name change/pin change/screen brightness toggle/ and display connected devices. The only other suggestion is one more usb port. One dedicated power, and one dedicated hd audio input or thunderbolt. Overall this is a highly recommended product. With a few small tweaks it can be an amazing product. I should add, postage was only two days to Australia.

Finally! A Professional Bluetooth Receiver

This was clearly engineered by someone who knows what the pros actually need. The only downside is that you can't rename the bluetooth broadcast ID name.
I've been using it through studio monitors and it sounds pretty flat. SNR is huge for a bluetooth device. I'm buying another one for my personal use.

The best sounding Bluetooth receiver Period!

Typically Bluetooth audio is quite bad compared to wifi or wired streaming. Most HiFi manufacturers typically implement Bluetooth as an after thought/nice to have and focus on other areas more such as airplay, chromecast etc…. I own an audiolab 6000a play and the Bluetooth on that amp sounds like what you would normally expect Bluetooth to sound like. When I connected the B3 to the amp I was blown away at how good the Bluetooth sounded from my iPhone compared to the built in Bluetooth on the audiolab 6000a. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. The crazy thing is the audiolab and the B3 both use the same Dac and both were streaming with AAC codec but the B3 just sounded better. If you want the best quality audio from Bluetooth look no further. The B3 is worth it over built in Bluetooth or some cheap Bluetooth addon from Amazon, Temu or Ali Express. Blafili is serious about Bluetooth. Just look at the product listings it’s all they do.

Easy to pair and long run time. Update, long range.

I bought one direct in September and have been using on my Mixer via XLR mic in. Works great and has decent receiver range, no clicks and seems to reject interference from my other wireless devices in house. FFWD to today, ordered another one from AMAZON this time due to lightning fast shipping times. I paired the device to my first one and the two devices work very well together so now I have stereo. Not sure you would need two as a street performer with one speaker obviously but at least there is that option to add another one. The Bluetooth sounds great, using as DAC from tablet is fair sounding. I think Bluetooth is the way to go for sound Quality. 14 plus hours runtime. 4.5 stars IMO.
UPDATE..... The range on my pair of XLRs is 100+ feet in an outdoor situation, direct line of sight of coarse. Now that I have cycled the batteries on both devices they will stayed paired to each other for 24 hrs. Very cool

Great range, well-made

This bluetooth streamer deserves the high ratings that it has. It has great range, is well built, and has lots of connectivity options. Customer service is excellent. I had a little trouble with the install (user error) even though the directions are very clear. They were quick to respond and I was up and running in no time. I highly recommend this company and their product!

Better than expected range, great sound

blafili XLR Portable Bluetooth 5.1 Music Receiver (~$50)

The Good:
+ Good sound (as would be expected through a bluetooth stream)
+ Range as expected. Got around 60-70' indoors before any dropouts with a phone BT transmitter that's fairly weak.
+ Line output
+ Low latency (untested)
+ Stereo if you have two (untested)

The Bad:
- Form factor is not my favorite. Sticking out the back of a speaker. It would benefit from a short XLR dongle/jumper/patch cable.
- No obvious or advertised way to replace internal battery.

This is a very cool device for doing things like cueing music through a PA, such as playback through a phone for weddings or parties. Having only one, I wasn't able to test the stereo abilities. I work with sound equipment professionally, and this solves some issues that I've occasionally come across -- how to get a good signal from my phone to a PA speaker that takes XLR. This allows me to connect using bluetooth, and I can even remote the speaker with XLR cable, and have this device near the phone... it doesn't have to be mounted on the speaker itself. Note that it is line output. If you need mic level, you'll have to use a pad for the signal.

The 2 disadvantages I listed makes me think obsolescence is planned through breakage or battery loss.

Recommended for any sound professional that's struggled with phone adapters for a PA speaker. If only they had a solution to the internal battery issue....

what you need if you need XLR outs

Just did critical listening with this in my studio last night, a huge improvement from my ~$30 RCA-out one I had before. As a studio owner, Bluetooth has always been considered a joke and not ready for primetime but this helps when people want to quickly play example mixes of differing styles from their phones. Really surprising quality even at higher volumes.

A very versatile and great addition to have!!

I needed the Blafili XLR to work with an older equipment rack that did not have Bluetooth flexibility. Plugging this in, provided immediate resolution to an ongoing frustration.
Many devices in the pro audio department that add Bluetooth functionality are for some reason costly. Additionally, they are generally a rack-mounted device, or they are a unit that needs a 110 volt power supply to operate. The Blafilli XLR meets the need by being battery powered with a 10-hour use, or plugging into anything that has a USB charge output. I have added pictures of the device and instruction manual as well as provided a video to help understand and use this product.

blafili B3 solid performance

I originally bought the blafili B3 because I was looking for Bluetooth 5.1 with long range capability for a permanent install I was doing at a school. I looked at all the traditional brands but no one had a 5.1 Bluetooth with XLR connections that would work in my application. The unit was mounted in a theater AV rack in a control booth approximately 75 to 80 feet from the stage. I was able to Connect to the unit from the stage and have solid uninterrupted connection from anywhere within the theater. To test how far I could go without losing the signal I walked out of the theater onto the play yard and had a solid signal for about another 20 to 25 feet making the overall range just about 100 feet Plus being inside of a metal middle Atlantic rack and through a concrete wall. Needless to say I'm very happy with the range, stability, and of the unit. I was also very happy with the audio quality it was very clean, clear with no artifacts.

I was so happy with it I replaced their Denon DN-300Z in their gym with another blafili B3 because the Denon's range was very limited and anytime you wanted to switch devices you had to hit the selection button which you do not have to do on the blafili B3. With the blafili B3 it will automatically show up in your Bluetooth List of devices available for pairing. This is great because you can just walk into the room if you've paired to the device in the past and connect. The single button on the front of the device is just to power on the device and to forget devices if you press and hold the button. The unit canned also remember up to 8 different Bluetooth connections.

Another nice feature is that the name of the unit can be customized this was important in this situation because I have two units in the same building with overlapping signals you could see on your device. so I was able to change one name to "Theater Bluetooth" and the other to "Gym Bluetooth". Michael from blafili technical Support provided me with the program and guided me through the process. It was not difficult the only thing that slowed me up is it requires a Windows machine and I'm a Mac person. Once I got over that hurdle it was a smooth process and MICHAEL even checked back with me to make sure I was able to successfully change the name. They even offered to send me one with the customized name if I had any difficulty changing it my self.

The only complaint I would have would be the display is very small but for me I considered it a minor.

I've now purchased three of these units and they've all worked as expected and you can't beat the price for what you get in terms of technology.

I would definitely recommend this product and the tech-support is great as well.

Good customer service. Great performance. Watch 2.4Ghz interference. No pings on connecting.

The first one I ordered never arrived. The vendor reached out when I applied for a return/refund. Very responsive and nice. First test left me unsure. Had it going into a class D powered mixer with 2.4Ghz wireless mics active. It worked great, long distance, much better than another BT5.3 brand, but when the music paused there was a fluttering noise in the system on the BT receivers channels. Then I tried it with XLRs going direct into a Yamaha PX series amp. Solid performance, good distance even through walls, and dead silent when paused. Still need to test on RCA outs, but that's secondary for why I got it. Key for me was that there are no dis/connect sounds. Nice fit and finish on the product. Do be sure to switch your phone to airplane mode if that's your source. It does still duck the signal when the phone is activated.

Impressive and speedy customer service! well built

This Bluetooth receiver sports many features that we (as professional AV installers) have been looking for. The ability to assign a specific BT name (via software that their customer support provided) is excellent . The ability to set a Pin # to only allow specific devices to pair is very helpful in the churches and schools that we work in. The XLR outputs are a very nice plus as well as the removable antenna. Great product at a fair price. Their customer support was very prompt to reply to questions. Will be back for more soon! thanks.

Good sound quality. Easy setup.

Was a little leary to try this due to some of the bad reviews, but I'm very pleased with it. Setup and pairing couldn't have been easier and I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality of sound. Of course the quality of signal to the BT receiver, quality of connection to the stereo receiver (I used the optical connection), quality of receiver and speakers all contribute to how good it sounds. If all of that is high end you'll be very pleased with this product. If not, oh well. They say you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. You can use this with a low quality system and you'll get low quality sound.

Best Bluestream receiver

We are AV Integrators, and this is our 'go to' product for all our installations. Over the years we have tried many Bluetooth receivers, but for pro level features and performance, this by way ahead of everyone else. Stable, long range connection, highest audio quality, ability to name and password, balanced outputs, ability to unpair an unwanted auto connection at the touch of one button, are features you just don’t get on other units. Oh, and the after sales support is unmatched, wish there were more suppliers like these guys! If you are serious about using Bluetooth, this is the receiver to go for.

Best Professional (and consumer) BT Receiver I've Bought (and I have bought a lot)

Finally a pro unit worth buying. XLR, RCA, and digital outs. Fantastic range and **The Ability To Program BT ID**. Setup was easy and simple but I could not figure a way to have the device pre-programmed and delivered to me. I contacted Blafili support and within minutes (!) I had clear instructions in my in-box. Naming the device took maybe ten minutes and that includes installing the software. Naming is a very desirable feature. This is not only a well-thought-out device but worthy of being called 'professional'. The only part I have not researched is maybe adding a better external antenna to increase range; this may not be desirable from Blafili standpoint but I'll give it a try and edit this post if I do it.

Does not support hi res audio via USB C

If you are like me and run all audio at Hi Res via a wired set up please be aware that this device does support hi res via USB. A direct connection will result in, at most, 16-bit depth and 48khz. I spoke with the manufacturer and they were very fast to respond (why I am giving 4 stars) but the is no solution for this (maybe because there is no USB controller?). Anywho, the device it self is small and should fit on any desktop, seems well manufactured. Bluetooth connected well and was able to get up to 96khz via iPhone 15.

Just works, and uses AAC with Apple devices

I've tried a couple of other Bluetooth receivers and this is the first I've found that both says it supports the AAC codec and actually uses it when macOS computers connect to it. (It's also the first I've tried that doesn't pick up a ton of interference from my Keychron Q60 keyboard.) blafili was very responsive when I had pre-purchase questions and the B3 performed exactly as they said it would - I'm very happy with this device. It sounds great and it's very easy to use. I'm listening to it as I type this, streaming ALAC files from Apple Music on my Mac through the B3 and a separate DAC and amp powering planar magnetic headphones. No noise, no interference, clear audio with a well performing codec. I'm a happy listener!

Linux users only: think twice

Pros:
- Excellent sound: indistinguishable from wired connection (with good codec).
- XLR Outputs available, excellent for feeding directly into active speakers w/o noise interference or ground loop.
- Stable and quick connection to Win, iOS,Android and amazon Firestick.
- Good sensitivity of Bluetooth.
- So far no humming noise from ground loops or power supply, even on standard out.
Cons:
- Has a screen, but only indicates own name, not what it is connected to.
- Connection to Ubuntu Linux and Gnome works only as a first: dis-and reconnection makes Blafili crash and reboot, but refusing any (even Win etc.) connection until complete reset. No quick fix found so far: strange!
- Minor point: I find the graphics indicating signal reception a bit iffy.
So for those not using Linux: definitely worth getting at the actual price if you do not want to compromise on sound quality.

Great for steaming music from iPhone thru older stereo receiver

I use the RCA cables to output to a an older, but good quality stereo receiver. Connecting with Bluetooth to this device from my iPhone, this device works great - better than expected, adding new life to an older, but great sounding, stereo system. The setup and Bluetooth pairing was easy, flawless, up and running very quickly with no surprises or hassles. Volume levels output similar to the FM receiver or from a DVD player, no preamp needed as with some turntables. Range of the Bluetooth connection is good as I walk around a large room with my phone. Nice device, very pleased with the purchase.

Great Product and Customer Service! Plus, ALL THE OUTPUTS!

This is an excellent Bluetooth receiver! Sound quality is perfect, and it has more output options than competitors. I love that you can customize your Bluetooth device name and pin code. I had some trouble getting it connected to my audio interface, and reached out to Blafili and they responded immediately and helped me troubleshoot the problem and I was able to figure out that it was a setting on my interface that was wrong. The B3 unit is working perfectly! I would definitely recommend this product and this company.

Quality !

Great high end DAC for the price. Sound is very similar to my Bluedento and I found out it's the same company !!! They make great DAC's with high quality parts. They have high output volts so you don't have to crank up the volume on your amp. I'm very happy with all of their products. A great DAC at a great price !

Excellent Bluetooth device! Great support!

I got the B3 to allow a Bluetooth connection between an iPad and a mixer in my church's fellowship hall. VERY easy to connect, and wonderful sound. The fact that it had XLR connections built in was a real plus. I wrote the the vendor and asked about putting a password on the B3 and they sent me procedures - it took just a minute or so to do. Very happy with the blafili B3 and the support from the vendor. I'm streaming to my Yamaha DM3-D mixer from an iPad Pro and it sounds great.

A surprisingly useful audio transmitter / receiver

I have been using this around my house for a few months now and it is the type of device every audiophile should have in their 'toolbox'. The ability to just have a 'wireless' RCA connection is fantastic. For example, I have a Denon Amplifier which has 2 zones plugging in the RTX transmitter into the Zone 2 allowed me to share everything connected to the Denon (including a turntable) to my bedroom speakers without worrying about cables (which my wife appreciated). I have attacked a photo to give you an idea.

Overall I great little device to extend your audio around the house.

Excellent Bluetooth DAC

Great Bluetooth DAC product with exceptional sound quality. Has XLR outputs which is a big plus. I use the XLR Output to connect to my Preamp. The sound is detailed and very enjoyable to listen to. Very easy to use and a true Plug and Play device. Bought 2 of these blafili B3 devices direct from their website for my home use: one for bedroom and one for Living Room. I am very happy with the blafili B3. Highly recommended.

This is the best bluetooth DAC for the cost!

I came across this product when searching for a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver that has stereo balanced out. The only choices outside of this price came to be a Denon Professional unit that is very dated and full of complaints, a couple of small mono XLR male only units that are rechargeable, and extremely high cost "audiophile" geared devices. The fact is, this hits all the marks! It features unbalanced L+R RCA, coax, Toslink, and balanced L+R XLR outputs.

The build quality is excellent and simple. The case is a satin black alloy with a composite front and rear panel. The XLR pins and antenna connector are gold plated. The oled screen is simple yet functional. I like that it is crisp, but not overly bright. It easily fits in with your gear while not being obtrusive. There is only one button on the entire unit, and it serves as a power button, un-pair device, and factory reset.

NOTE: This receiver automatically powers on if USB voltage is supplied, thus allowing you to connect it to your receiver's switched outlet or your main power supply.

Upon disassembly, I was delighted to see that this does indeed contain the ESS 9018K2M chip and the Qualcomm QCC5125! Too many false advertisements to not check nowadays. All solder joints look good with no slop.

The included USB and Toslink cable are 3ft. and feel of good quality.

The sound through this device is strong and clear with no perceived distortion. It is very quick to connect with no dropouts while in use.

My final take on this is that is a no-brainer! A good DAC should not "color" sound as it is completely digital. Some may call me incorrect. Fine! Go sit at home and try to find the difference between your $1k unit and this one while sipping brandy by yourself. The rest should take advantage of this excellently built and priced device and keep all of the extra money in your pocket!

Blafili B3 for the win!

Very good receiver!

I found this unit to be very competent, I have connect it to my PC to process my FLAC and ISO files, and it did that with ease utilizing the excellent ESS DAC, the results were a pleasant high resolution music, wirelessly as well as wired! I used my RCA connections to play music thru my HD Music player and I also used my optical connection to my PC, enjoyed the sound coming out of this receiver as well as the fit and finish and material used, recommended!

Perfect streamer

has all the outputs that I need for my application that send out all at once. Sound is clear with better bass than I would if connect my phone or iPad via Airplay or Bluetooth directly to my Onkyo that costs 1k. I had a party and some friends notice better sound in system. Bluetooth connection is solid better than the Wiim that I had before I returned and would cost more than this unit.

Worth the Price?

It is pricy compared to the other versions on the market. I searched for one supporting xlr connections. This one has the most connection options available. I tried the xlr connections, but ended up just using rca connections in the end. Both or these options work flawlessly with my iPad. I went down stairs and to the other side of the house and there were no connection issues. I really don’t know how well the cheaper options work, but this one does work well and looks reasonably nice. It is a little weird that the MFB button on the front is the power button.

Quality Bluetooth receiver with many features

This Bluetooth receiver has great sound right out of the box. The range is at least 30 feet. It supports just about any Bluetooth protocol out available making it an excellent choice for low latency and high-fidelity connections. It also has a USB-C connector for input from a computer. It is loaded with outputs. I use the XLR outputs to feed my Hafler amplifier. Although the DAC in this box has been around a few years it's still an excellent choice for great sound.

The antenna amplification is spot on using a 30ft extension cable and aftermarket Yagi mounted on the wall. Range is excellent. Sound quality is excellent (we use XLR but also includes optical audio). No complaints and highly recommended the product.

Works Great

Very happy with my blafili B3. The sound quality is superb and bluetooth range is exceptional. We installed in a gymnasium and have no connection issues anywhere in the facility. The team at blafili was very helpful assisting me to find a device that had long range and a security PIN. I even got a custom broadcast name. Very happy with my purchase.

Nothing else comes close to this unit

The Blafili B3 Bluetooth receiver has to be the best on the market. As AV integrators, we want the option of being able to restrict who can take over the playback system. Also having the additional XLR balanced outputs is great to prevent hum and noise getting into the system. The range and sound quality are second to none. Highly recommend. Nothing else comes close to this unit.
