Brings my old Yamaha receiver into the Bluetooth age
I wanted a simple way to bring Bluetooth into an older stereo setup without replacing equipment that still sounds good.
This does that job well. The RCA output makes it easy to connect to an amp or powered speakers, and the USB-C power keeps the setup clean. I like that it can stay powered on, because I do not want to reconnect and fiddle with it every time I want to play music.
The no-beep pairing is a small thing, but I appreciate it. Some Bluetooth devices make every connection feel louder and more annoying than it needs to be. This one feels more like a quiet upgrade that just lets the stereo keep doing what it already does well.
It is not flashy, but that is part of why I like it. If you have an older stereo system and want modern wireless audio without making the setup complicated, this is a useful little receiver to add.

Review from AmazonThis has been a great device to use to add Bluetooth capability to my old existing home audio system.
It is small and relatively inconspicuous device, except for the blue light at the front which is not a problem for me and isn't distracting at all. It comes with a USB cable for power, but no RCA cable or power brick so be sure to make sure you have those before picking this up.
It also has the ability to play music from through USB like a PC or laptop, which is handy if you prefer playing audio through that than a smartphone. I haven't had any issues with this since setting it up and this was a great solution to be able to stream music from my phone/PC to my home audio system.
Price wise its decent but given the lack of inclusions and other cheaper alternatives on the market you might be better off shopping around if you want to save some coin. I still recommend it, as it's a solid little product.

⚙️ Performance & Everyday Use
The R1 performs reliably for everyday music streaming. Pairing is instant and silent, and the connection remains stable across rooms. Audio quality through RCA is clean with no background hiss, even when idle. The aptX Adaptive/HD support gives noticeably better clarity compared to basic SBC receivers.
The USB‑C audio input is a useful bonus for desktop setups, allowing direct playback from a computer through your existing speakers. Auto‑reconnect works well, though the unit will attempt to connect whenever powered, so placement and power control matter.
Its compact size makes it easy to hide behind receivers or powered speakers, though the lightweight housing may shift if connected to heavy cables.
Closing Words
A simple, effective way to add modern Bluetooth streaming to older stereo gear. The blafili R1 delivers clean audio, silent pairing and flexible RCA/USB connectivity, making it a strong everyday upgrade for amplifiers, receivers and powered speakers that still sound great but lack wireless input.
Handy upgrade for an older stereo
The blafili R1 is a practical way to add Bluetooth streaming to an older stereo, amplifier or set of powered speakers. It connects through the RCA output and can also take audio from a computer through USB. Pairing should be straightforward, and automatic reconnection makes everyday use easier.
Support for two connected devices is handy when switching between a phone, tablet or laptop. It also avoids beeps and voice prompts, which is a nice touch for a home audio setup. The compact size makes it easy to place beside other equipment without taking up much room.
It is worth remembering that this is a receiver only, so it cannot send audio to Bluetooth headphones. It also has no built in battery and needs to stay connected to USB power. Overall, it looks like a useful little adapter that adds modern wireless playback without replacing a perfectly good stereo.
Review from AmazonI got this to add bluetooth to my old receiver in my living room so I can easily listen to music from my phone while cleaning or working on projects around the house. Install and setup was easy; I used my own high quality RCA cables to connect it to the receiver. It's very small and lightweight, so some foam mounting tape was used to stick it to the side of the receiver.
In terms of sound quality, it's fine. It doesn't have LDAC compatibility, but for the price, that's not a big deal. It still sounds decent. One thing I don't like, is that it auto connects when powered on. I like to keep bluetooth on my phone turned on so I can connect to the various devices I use in my house. To get around this, I use a tapo smart plug that the USB power brick (also my own; there's not one included) is plugged into. That way I can just turn the plug on or off with my phone or voice, so it only connects when I want it to.
Overall, for the price, it does what it was designed to.
