Stable Bluetooth for RCA devices
I’d previously used Bluetooth to RCA receivers to connect my phone to older hi-fi units to play music.
The advantage of this unit is having a more recent version of Bluetooth with offers a far greater range, and rock solid stability without any noise.
Being powered by USB-C, you can power this unit pretty much anywhere, and it is light enough to tape somewhere out of sight.
Breathe new life into an older audio system by adding this Bluetooth receiver to your setup, allowing you to use your phone for seamless audio streaming.

⚙️ Performance & Everyday Use
The R1 performs reliably for everyday music streaming. Pairing is instant and silent, and the connection remains stable across rooms. Audio quality through RCA is clean with no background hiss, even when idle. The aptX Adaptive/HD support gives noticeably better clarity compared to basic SBC receivers.
The USB‑C audio input is a useful bonus for desktop setups, allowing direct playback from a computer through your existing speakers. Auto‑reconnect works well, though the unit will attempt to connect whenever powered, so placement and power control matter.
Its compact size makes it easy to hide behind receivers or powered speakers, though the lightweight housing may shift if connected to heavy cables.
Closing Words
A simple, effective way to add modern Bluetooth streaming to older stereo gear. The blafili R1 delivers clean audio, silent pairing and flexible RCA/USB connectivity, making it a strong everyday upgrade for amplifiers, receivers and powered speakers that still sound great but lack wireless input.
Wish I knew about this 2 years ago!
I am SOOOOOO happy I found this silent-operation receiver! Every other receiver makes annoying power-on/off and paring tones. Since I use this for my TV, it gets used multiple times a day and those tones would get so annoying, especially because they are very loud. This unit is totally silent. The sound it sends to my powered 2.1 speakers is perfect (you lose a little volume level but that is always true with Bluetooth vs hard-wired). Also there is no delay, which is important for watching TV and movies. I power this with via the usb port on my TV so whenever the TV is off, so is this receiver. It boots up instantly so there is no delay waiting for it. Love it!
Works well for adding Bluetooth to older audio gear
This Bluetooth receiver is a simple and useful option if you want to add Bluetooth streaming to an older stereo, amplifier, or AV receiver that does not already have Bluetooth built in. Setup was straightforward: connect the USB-C cable for power, plug the RCA outputs into the stereo input, pair it with a phone, and select the correct input on the receiver.
The sound quality is good for the price and works well for casual music listening. Pairing was easy, and once connected, it did what it was supposed to do.
A couple of things to know before buying: it comes with a USB-C power cable, but not a power adapter, so you will need your own USB power brick. RCA cables are also not included, so make sure you have a red and white RCA cable available. There is no volume knob on the unit itself, so volume is controlled from your phone and your stereo or AV receiver.
Overall, it is a practical little Bluetooth receiver for bringing wireless music playback to older audio equipment.
Went straight to aptX Adaptive - connected immediately - no need for stupid apps.
This is a five star device. It would be cool if it were metal but I don't care. It's simple and it works. The protocol was automatically chosen as adaptive which is the best one. LDAC would be nice but who cares - if you can actually tell the difference then go be a sommelier and stop using bluetooth.
So much better than my old logitech dongle which this is replacing. I think that used SBC? Either way, I love that this is my new little beast for phone streaming and it does justice to the focals on my desk.
Definitely recommend this device. Paired instantly with zero dramas. It's just an easy good device.
Handy upgrade for an older stereo
The blafili R1 is a practical way to add Bluetooth streaming to an older stereo, amplifier or set of powered speakers. It connects through the RCA output and can also take audio from a computer through USB. Pairing should be straightforward, and automatic reconnection makes everyday use easier.
Support for two connected devices is handy when switching between a phone, tablet or laptop. It also avoids beeps and voice prompts, which is a nice touch for a home audio setup. The compact size makes it easy to place beside other equipment without taking up much room.
It is worth remembering that this is a receiver only, so it cannot send audio to Bluetooth headphones. It also has no built in battery and needs to stay connected to USB power. Overall, it looks like a useful little adapter that adds modern wireless playback without replacing a perfectly good stereo.
Review from AmazonI ordered this Blafili R1 Bluetooth Receiver and was immediately impressed with its simplicity. It transmits clear sound with what I would consider low latency sound as I did not notice a delay. Its RCA line-out works well for connecting it to an older home stereo system. The always‑on USB power option is convenient, but I would prefer an on/off switch as I don’t like leaving electronics on and plugged in all the time. Overall, it is great for music streaming and I am very happy with it. I hope this helps with your shopping experience.
Simple and effective wireless adapter to modernize a classic home stereo system
Adding Bluetooth to an older stereo system used to mean putting up with annoying pairing beeps or muddy audio, but this compact adapter completely changes that. I ordered it to modernize an older amplifier, and the silent connection is a massive upgrade over cheaper units. The sound quality is remarkably clean and crisp with stable range, and the small footprint hides easily behind existing gear.
The lightweight plastic shell can get pulled around by heavier RCA cables, and navigating a USB drive without a display screen is a guessing game. However, as a dedicated receiver for streaming from a phone, it performs flawlessly without background hiss. It is a highly effective, low-fuss way to bring high-quality wireless audio to vintage equipment.
